Posted: 13 de August de 2011 by Fernando Furtado in Call for Papers, Event

The American Association of Philosophy Teachers (AAPT) invites
proposals for our two-hour session at the upcoming Pacific APA meeting
in Seattle, April 4 to April 8, 2012. We are planning on three  20-
minute presentations with audience involvement and participation.

Proposals should focus on how to craft writing assignments that
succeed in developing students’ philosophical skills and on how best
to provide feedback on these writing assignments, especially for large
lecture classes and/or by instructors who carry heavy course loads.

The proposal should include some examples of actual writing
assignments that were given to students and how instructor feedback on
the assignments was judged to be helpful to students. Presenters are
also encouraged to relate their writing assignment examples to a given
pedagogical theory or approach.

Submissions are encouraged from teachers at two-year institutions, at
four year colleges, and at universities. Individual proposals and
panel proposals are welcome. The AAPT encourages workshop proposals
that are interactive and practical.

Proposals should be no longer than 300 words and submitted in either
Word or PDF to both Bill Anelli  (anellib@mjc.edu) and Tziporah
Kasachkoff (tkasachkoff@yahoo.com).

Deadline for receipt of proposals is October 1, 2011.
